In the first Principles of Effective Teaching and Assessment (PETA) class (9/20), my classmates and I learnt about what and how effective teaching and assessment are. Miss Ine, our lecturer, started with questions, "How is effective teaching?" and "How is effective teacher?”. We were divided into groups and asked to explain how they should be based on our own understanding. After we all explained, she then gave corrections and a brief explanation about these.
She asked us to tell about our two unforgettable, good and bad, teachers. Suddenly I remembered my good Math teacher in Junior High. She was kind, explained the subject well, was understanding to her students, and what I liked the most from her was her constant smile. For the bad one, I had another Math teacher in Junior High. She was really different from my previous Math teacher. It was hard for me to understand what she taught, she even didn’t like smiling.
At the end of the session, she asked us to write our expectations on the PETA course. I wrote my wishes that I want to be able to make effective lesson plans and good rubrics for assessment.
ok, you can choose that option, you will be like math teacher in your juniaor high school or in your senior high school.
